Reader Profile

        When analyzing readings, prose, and poetry the difficulties for me includes staying focus and comprehending the figurative language the author uses. For example, many poems contain metaphors to compare things. Distinguishing what is being compared and why it is useful poses as a challenge. Staying focus and on track is also strenuous because I become bored easily and my mind wonders.  My strengths are having an extended vocabulary and being able to make connections. For instance, my vocabulary enables me to better comprehend, and being able to make connections, while reading, permits a better opportunity into the author’s perspective. My weaknesses are imperative reasons on why I am sometimes detached from reading; however, I do read because it helps me escape reality. Essentially reading will serve as a big role in helping me prepare for my future career as a teacher.
